In a surprise decision, Queen of All Media Kris Aquino bid farewell to ABS-CBN and her loyal fans as she leaves showbiz to concentrate on her family and businesses.
“Thank you Kapamilya! Our relationship started October 28, 1996 and will soon end this March 23, 2016. A total of 10,354 days working for ABS-CBN, my life’s most fulfilling professional journey because of your love, acceptance and loyalty,” said Aquino in her Instagram post.
“Just like you, I love my family. My most valuable life destiny is to be mama to Kuya Josh, and Bimby; and to be a loving, selfless sister to Ate, Plinky, Noy and Viel; a bunso who does not give them a constant worry because of the health and safety,” she said.
Recently, the 45-year-old actress-TV host has said that she would make some important decisions in life after hypertension continued to threaten her despite maintenance medication.
“I’m not putting a time frame but with my type of work, it’s realistic to accept by leaving ABS-CBN I’ll be replaced and soon forgotten. My sons and I will travel, we’ll move to our new home, and I’ll eat healthy and sleep early, exercise regularly, and live quietly – – – everything to make sure Kuya Josh and Bimb have a healthy mother,” she added.
Aquino thanked her endorsements “for sticking it out with me while I work on my long-term health and wellness.”
“This isn’t goodbye – – this is I hope you’ll miss me and I hope to see you again, soon. My not so healthy heart wants to thank all of you for your love for me, my family and my work.”
“I’ll be back with a 100 percent healthy heart so that I can love all of you even more and for much longer. Until then, #LOVELOVELOVE,” Aquino said.
Aquino revealed that her next chapter would focus on businesses.
“I met with Potato Corner president Joe Magsaysay Friday, March 4. We are partners in expansion and opening our 2nd PC+NachoBimby in SM North EDSA this May 2016. We re expanding, 3 more storefronts in Mall Cinema Areas in Q3 of 2016. I own the Chowking franchise in AliMall, co-owns MangInasal in Anonas, and my goal to own a Jollibee in my home province of Tarlac seems meant to be this 2016.”
“I need to continue being a working mom since I’m the sole provider for my sons, but for now I’ll do it away from the stress of the limelight,” Aquino said.
Aquino said that Thursday and Friday (March 10-11) would be her final taping days for morning show “Kris TV.”
Rumors said that Aquino was supposed to appear in a new talk show opposite broadcaster Anthony Taberna but the Kapamilya network has yet to make a formal announcement about it.
