A 38-year-old man allegedly committed suicide due to jealousy on Black Saturday in Pasay City.
Senior Supt. Joel Doria, Pasay police chief, identified the victim as Erwin Delfin, jobless, of Road 4, Pildera 2, Pasay. PO3 Mario Golondrina, case investigator, disclosed that Delfin was found hanging with a cord looped around his neck by his niece, Juliamhiay Bercasi, 9, inside his room at 6 p.m.
Police said that prior to the incident, Delfin had a heated argument with his girlfriend. The victim reportedly threatened Camille that he will commit suicide if he visits his ex-boyfriend at the Pasay City Jail.
“Selos ang tinitignan naming pinakamalapit na motibo sa pagpapakamatay dahil nga nakakulong dito ‘yung dating syota niya,” said Golondrina. Police found no external injuries on Delfin except for ligature marks on the neck. Delfin’s body was taken to the Rizal Funeral Homes in Pasay for autopsy. (Martin A. Sadongdong)
