LOS ANGELES – Manny Pacquiao believes Tim Bradley will attempt to do to him what he did to Brandon Rios late last year.
“I think they’re going to go to the body,” Pacquiao told his longtime Australian strength coach Justin Fortune on Tuesday as he was about to wrap another grueling day at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood.
Bradley took out Rios with body shots and Pacquiao feels the US fighter thinks he can also use that strategy against him when they slug it out on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
“You sure, you sure?” asked Fortune.
Pacquiao nodded then circled the ring, unleashing furious combinations that slashed through the air before putting an end to his workout doing crunches, the final stage of his daily routine.
In disposing of Rios, who went 12 rounds with Pacquiao in Macau in late-2013, Bradley never let up on banging the Mexican-American’s soft-looking breadbasket until he went down grimacing in pain.
Under a new trainer in Teddy Atlas, Bradley has suddenly appeared to be a heavy-hitter.
