LAGUNA – With a few months left before his replacement is elected, President Aquino is taking pride that his administration has never been corrupt and selfish.
The President said his government, in partnership with the people, poured “blood, sweat and tears” to clean up the bureaucracy, combat corruption and improve the country’s economic conditions. As a result, the country is now in a better shape compared to the one he inherited in 2010, according to the President.
Hindi rin namin inangkin ang pagbabago,” Aquino said during an assembly with the local community in Sta. Rosa, Laguna last Thursday.
Napakaimportante po ‘non,” Aquino said.
Aquino, who ran on a campaign promise against corruption and poverty, will end his six-year stay in office this June 30, 2016. He has already endorsed his friend, former Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, as his preferred successor, believing he is honest and competent to lead the country to greater success.
In his speech, the President said he is proud of the administration’s triumphs, from reduction in poverty and unemployment rates to improved basic social services, adding all these could be sustained if the right leaders are elected this May.
Aquino said he is confident to leave the country in the good hands of Roxas and his running mate Leni Robredo who will continue the “Daang Matuwid” governance. He then urged Laguna voters not to waste the chance for greater progress under the continuity of straight path.
