Kapamilya star Anne Curtis-Smith has said that she is now preparing to join the 2016 New York City Marathon which will take place on November 6.
Curtis, 31, said that the NYC Marathon 2016 would be her first marathon ever. She has posted a photo on Instagram while training with Ige Lopez, a certified running coach.
“Committed to getting better form and time. Form check and cruise intervals with Coach @lopez who will be training me for my very first marathon. Thanks @kuyakim_atienza. This is the best birthday gift ever and for sure walang bawian. Haha. Wag kayong mainis sa hashtag ko ha. Ito Na muna habang wala pa ako maisip. Any suggestions?” Curtis asked.
The New York City Marathon is one of the largest and most popular marathons in the world.
Established in 1970, more than 50,000 runners are expected to join in the world-class event organized by the New York Road Runners Club.
Participants can get into the marathon through sweepstakes, run for a charity, run a qualifying time, enter the marathon’s general drawing and join an international marathon tour group.
Curtis, one of the hosts for the Kapamilya noontime show “It’s Showtime,” is one of the most athletic female stars in the country.
In October 2015, she mounted a marathon dubbed “Heroes for Children Run” for the benefit of the UNICEF “1,000 Days of Life” campaign.
