Kathryn Bernardo shed tears of joy upon receiving roses from kids on her birthday.
The kids were among those she helped through Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation Philippines, which aims to establish sustainable cleft and craniofacial centers in the country.
Kathryn, who has been helping the foundation for about a year now, shared it was the most memorable moment during her birthday bash tendered by Kentucky Fried Chicken.
“I told them nga kanina, masaya ako na naging parte ako ng buhay nila,” the 20-year-old actress said. “Alam mo kung saan napupunta ’yung mga binibigay mo sa kanila kaya masarap sa pakiramdam…”
The actress promised to help the foundation for a long as she can, saying, “Basta, hanggang kaya ay nandito tayo para tumulong, hindi lang sa NCF kundi sa iba pang malapit sa ating foundation.”
Kathryn revealed how she uses part of her earnings to help children.
“Every time na may bagong endorsement, may dalawang bata o isang bata na bibigyan namin ng help. Sa isang soap opera naman, may ilang bata na ’yung pondo noon ay sa kanila. May deal kami ng mommy ko noon,” she related.
The actress believes it’s a plus factor when celebs support foundations as “mas maraming tao ang mas makakaalam (about the advocacy).” (Alex Brosas)
