AFTER their successful stint in the hit reality show “X Factor UK” in 2015, the four Filipino siblings known as 4th Impact have said that they are starting from zero again in their musical career.
“From the scratch uli kami ngayon,” said Mylene Cercado, one of the members of the girl group, during an appearance in “Tonight with Boy Abunda” over ABS-CBN.
The sisters visited the Philippines recently as one of the guest performers for “The Paradise International Music Festival” topbilled by rappers Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa. The group returned to London last Monday.
But the sisters said that good things are coming their way in London despite not winning the UK singing competition.
They refused to disclose details of their future projects.
“Masasabi naming dahil libreng manga-rap, ipagpapatuloy po naming ’yung pagkanta namin. Posible palang maabot mo ang iyong mga pangarap,” said Mylene.
Irene said that she and her sisters have been joining singing competitions for 10 years now. They were ready to retire and go on their own ways after they lost in South Korea’s “Superstar K6” in 2014.
But the siblings from Isabela did not give up and auditioned for the “X Factor UK” reality show.
So dapat pala hindi po kami mag give up,” said Irene.
The sisters who are breadwinners of their family recalled the days when they could not afford to buy new shoes or dress.
They thanked their mother who has been very supportive of their career.
S’ya po talaga ’yung No. 1 supporter namin,” Mylene added.
Other members of the group are Almira and Celina.
The group also said that not one of them is in a relationship these days.
The 4th Impact first caught the attention of the public when they performed “Bang Bang” originally recorded by Jessie J. Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande for the “X Factor” open audition.
That time they were originally known as the 4th Power. They later changed their name to 4th Impact due to copyright claims.
During the audition, they earned praises from judge Simon Cowell who then said: “In terms of first auditions, this is probably the best I’ve ever seen.”
