CLARK, Pampanga – The administration political machinery has shifted to high gear.
Two weeks left before the nation goes to the polling precincts, President Aquino returned to the province of Pampanga to woo more votes for the Liberal Party presidential tandem.
In his visit to Clark economic zone, the President asked local government leaders as well as barangay council members to ensure the continuity of the Daang Matuwid by rallying behind the candidacies of Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo.
Aquino made a similar campaign pitch when he met hundreds of beneficiaries of the conditional cash transfer program in a separate disaster preparedness event here.
Pillin natin ang may integridad at may tunay na kakayahang mamuno,” Aquino said during the launch of a new disaster readiness program for communities here.
Re-electionist Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda and Zambales Governor Hermogenes Ebdane, two known allies of former President Arroyo, were among those present in the assembly with the local leaders at Fontana Convention Center here.
Pampanga is a known bailiwick of Arroyo, who is seeking a third term as representative of the province’s second district.
By electing the right leaders in the May polls, the President said Pampanga could help protect the country’s gains of Daang Matuwid.
