Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach has appealed to netizens to stop using her in political campaigns as she denied endorsing any candidates for the 2016 national elections.
“Please stop. This is not real. This is not me. Thank you 🙂 I have a fan page and a fan group that is being handled by Daryl and of course the Official Miss Universe Facebook page. Please help me spread the word out. Maraming salamat po,” said Wurtzbach on Instagram recently.
A fake fan page of Wurtzbach showed the beauty queen conducting a poll survey that asked netizens to choose between Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte of Davao City and Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago.
Duterte and Santiago are running for president in the May 9 elections.
Despite Wurtzbach’s appeal, some netizens have participated in the fake survey.
In her third homecoming to the Philippines earlier this month, Wurtzbach prayed for clean and honest national elections.
“Sana maging malinis ‘yung election ngayon and I hope the people choose the right leaders,” said Wurtzbach in a live broadcast interview over ABS-CBN.
The Filipino-German beauty queen has called on voters to analyze well the people running in the elections.
“Siguro kilalanin n’yo na lang mabuti. ‘Wag kayong ma-persuade sa mga sinasabi ng mga kaibigan n’yo, ‘yung mga nabasasa n’yo online or kung ano man. Pag-aralan nyo sa sarili n’yong mabuti kung sino yung karapat-dapat,” the beauty queen said.
Unconfirmed reports said that Wurtzbach is expected to come home to the Philippines for the fourth time next month for another event.
