STARTING May 2, the popular afternoon game show “Wowowin” will go off the air for two weeks following the request of its host Willie Revillame for a short vacation and to give way to the special coverage of the 2016 national elections on GMA-7 network.
The No. 1 game show’s final episode for the month of April was broadcast last Friday, April 29. It will resume on May 16.
The television host also said that the studio of “Wowowin” will be used for the special coverage of 2016 national elections by the GMA-7 News and Current Affairs.
Joey Abacan, VP for Program Management of GMA, said: “Nung pinaalam niya, I raised it to management and it’s an opportunity naman for us dahil mayroon ta-yong malaking election coverage for News and Public Affairs.”
But Revillame said that he won’t still be able to rest during the two-week vacation because he would still make plans for the game show.
“Gusto ko ng pagbabago for this coming one year.
“I’m also excited. Si Willie naman, everytime na may break na hihingin yan, napatunayan ko na ‘yan na when he comes back, mas malaki at mas maingay,” said Abacan.
