TARLAC CITY – Presidential aspirant and Senator Grace Poe urged voters to elect the next set of leaders who would serve as good examples for their children.
In a recent political rally at President Benigno Aquino’s hometown, Poe highlighted the need for voters to be enlightened as to who they should vote in the upcoming May 9, 2016 elections.
If they want a better future for the country , Poe said Filipinos should demand more from their leaders and seek those that can deliver results in seeking solutions to the country’s most pressing concerns.
Without naming anyone from her rivals in the presidential race, Poe exhorted parents saying they should not let candidates take away the values that they instilled in their children.
The senator also stressed that voters should not tolerate candidates who advocate a culture of violence and disrespect for the rule of law.
Poe, who earlier vowed to address crime by addressing poverty, said toughness should not mean an utter disregard of the due process or the rule of law.
Historically, it is often the poor people, who cannot even afford a lawyer, that end up victims of such a violent rule, she said.
“Competence, integrity and credibility are just some of the qualities that people should require from a leader,” Poe said.
She said the country needs a President who would focus on all the needs of the people and give them dignity as well.
