REAL-life sweethearts James Reid and Nadine Lustre have shared that they did not fall in love easily when they became a love team.
“Ako po nun trabaho lang talaga. Gusto ko po nun mag-focus lang ako dun (referring to work),” said Lustre, during an interview with “Tonight with Boy Abunda” aired over ABS-CBN recently.
“Hindi ko talaga s’ya na-appreciate nun. Overtime she grew on me. But I didn’t appreciate her back then,” said Reid.
Both Reid and Lustre appeared on the late-night show to promote their movie “This Time” which started to be shown in cinemas on May 4.
It would be recalled that Reid professed his love for Lustre during their sell-out concert called “Jadine Love” held at the Big Dome in Cubao, Quezon City last Feb. 20. They officially became a couple on Feb. 11.
But the young stars said that it was really hard to keep their relationship private.
“When I started falling for her, it’s hard to hide from the public. It’s too hard. But I just want to let everyone know,” Reid said.
“Ako po ayoko talaga kasi magulo po eh. Gusto ko po talaga private lang. Hindi naman important kung alam ng iba but then ang daming nagtatanong. Tapos may mga lumalabas na photos. Parang ang hirap nang magsinungaling,” Lustre said.
They also said that they were not aware that a camera was taking a shot of their tender kiss together inside the van.
“Hindi po namin alam kasi usually pag nasa van na kami wala ng camera dapat kasi ’yun ’yun ang time na magre-rest kami, kwentuhan. Nagulat po kami na nakanatutok pala sa amin ’yung camera,” said Lustre.
Asked if they were tender with each other, the couple smiled and said yes.
