Independent presidential candidate Sen. Grace Poe is the best candidate who can solve seven out of 12 issues affecting the country, according to a Social Weather Stations mobile survey.
The survey, conducted in series from April 5-8, 12, and 27, asked 1,200 respondents who among the five presidential bets can lower prices of commodities, increase the wages of workers, provide health for all, education for the poor, food for the poor, cleanliness of the environment, disaster preparedness, and solve the traffic problem.
Respondents of the SWS-Bilang Pilipino mobile survey said Poe can lower prices of commodities (32 percent), increasing wages (29 percent), health for all (40 percent), education for poor (37 percent), food for poor (37 percent), environment (35 percent), and disaster preparedness (31 percent).
Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte was second and can fight corruption (33 percent), fight crime (54 percent), defend Philippine territory (39 percent), and achieve peace in Mindanao (51 percent).
Duterte and Poe were tied as the best candidates who can solve the traffic problem with 27 percent each.
Administration standard-bearer Manuel A. Roxas II and United Nationalist Alliance bet Vice President Jejomar C. Binay were third to fourth in each issue, while Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago was last.
Poe was most cited by most respondents in Metro Manila and the Visayas as the candidate who can best solve the issues of lower prices of commodities, health for all, increased wages, education, and food for the poor.
Duterte was most preferred by respondents in these areas to fight corruption, crime, defending the territory, and peace in Mindanao.
In Luzon, Poe garnered the most votes in all the issues asked, except for fighting crimes and peace in Mindanao, where Duterte was most recommended.
In Mindanao, Duterte was most preferred as the best candidate to address all the 12 issues.
