The nurse who was verbally and physically abused by a man inside a UV Express Van in Quezon City Tuesday yesterday filed criminal charges against the suspect before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
Johanna Mangubat Balen, 22, was accompanied by his pro-bono counsel Raymund Fortun when they filed charges of Slight Physical Injuries, Oral Defamation, and Slander by Deed against John Michael Arellano Musni of Phase 3, North Olympus, Barangay Kaligayahan, Quezon City and Archer St., North Fairview, Quezon City.
“Galing lang kami kanina sa prosecutor’s office. Humihingi din kami ng moral damage na P2 million and exemplary damage na P1 million,” Fortun said.
Fortun said that they are determined to pursue the cases against Musni. He added that they are not willing to settle with the suspect. “Wala po, desido kami na ituloy (ang kaso). Wala pong settlement,” Fortun said.
“Normally kasi na kasasampa pa lang ng kaso, ira-raffle ito tapos padadalan ng subpeona (ang suspect),” he said.
Fortun said he volunteered to be the lawyer of the victim, who works at Bernardino General Hospital in Quezon City, after he personally saw the video and witness the cruelty done by Musni on his client.
