ALCOHOLIC NO MORE – Hopefully, a matinee idol is now abstaining from alcohol. A year or so ago, his promising career was nearly finished because of that disgusting incident on their way to a show abroad.
He should thank his bosses for protecting him from damaging publicity. Also colleagues, particularly a young actress, who opted not to pursue a harassment case against the matinee idol upon the mediation of people concerned with his zooming stardom.
Aside from forgetting good manners and right conduct, too much alcohol also damages one’s looks, bloated face and bulging stomach. It happened to a very fine character actor and an equally fine lead actor and box-office star. But then they are said to have “reformed.”

SINGLE MOMS – The coronation night is slated on June 4, Saturday, 7:30 p.m. at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre, Resorts World Manila and will have a delayed telecast on GMA News TV on June 19, 2016.
Reigning Miss Global-Philippines Mary Candice Ramos will crown her successor, who will compete in the international edition of Miss Global 2016 to be held at PICC on Sept. 3, 2016. Ramos placed 4th runner-up in Miss Global quest held in the Philippines last year and Catherine Almirante placed 2nd runner-up in 2014.
Miss Global Philippines is aimed at promoting the country’s rich heritage and diverse culture. The eventual winner of the pageant uses her title as a platform to support the local tourism sector. Miss Global Philippines is also the only beauty pageant in the country today that is open to single moms.
The pageant’s international counterpart, on the other hand, is a search for a deserving woman who will serve as a global ambassadress of goodwill and cultural diversity. While setting the trend for leadership, Miss Global winners travel throughout the world to participate in charity fundraisers and promote women empowerment.
