Gerry Abadiano scored six of his game-high 28 points in the payoff period and helped Adamson score a 96-92 win over Chiang Kai Shek College while La Salle Greenhills snapped Lyceum’s four-game winning streakin the 9th PCABL (Philippine Chinese Amateur Basketball League) FREEGO Cup at the Philippine Buddhacare Academy gym in Quezon City.
Jason Celis was the only other double digits scorer for Adamson which extended its winning streak to six games in the event held two days after the Baby Falcons handed Greenies a 67-54 beating for their fifth win.
In other games, La Salle-G bounced back from that loss with a 100-96 over the Lyceum Pirates, Jose Rizal University humbled St. Jude Catholic School, 74-47, and University of Perpetual Help picked up its second win in five starts with a close 81-77 win over Letran.
Troy Mallilin highlighted his 31-point show for La Salle by scoring 12 in the fourth period that kept the Junior Pirates at bay.
With Guilmer Dela Torre firing 25 points, Arellano University downed Jose Rizal University, 91-84, last Thursday for an even 3-3 record in the tournament also sponsored by Smart, Jumbo Plastic Linoleum, Hapee Toothpaste, Insular Square (Cebu), and New Pioneer Auto Supply (Cebu).
