Broadcaster Korina Sanchez has realized that her husband Mar Roxas II is “the best man of them all” moments after he conceded to presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte of Davao City last Tuesday.
“A reporter asked me: ‘What did you discover about your husband in this campaign that you never knew before?” I answered, ‘I always knew my husband is a good man. Only now in this campaign did I realize that he is the best man of them all,’ “ said Sanchez on Instagram.
Roxas, 58, ran under the Liberal Party during the May 9 national elections. He is currently No. 2 in the field of five presidential aspirants based on partial and unofficial tally.
The administrations standard bearer had wished Duterte success. A calm and relaxed Roxas also called on the Filipinos to support Duterte during his press conference.
On Election Day, Roxas voted in Capiz while Sanchez cast her vote in Cubao, Quezon City.
Roxas and Sanchez got married in Quezon City on October 27, 2009.
In April 2015, Sanchez went on leave from her duties in “TV Patrol” on ABS-CBN to focus on her studies.
That time, she was on second year taking up master’s degree in journalism via the online study programs of the Ateneo Graduate School and London School of Economics.
Sanchez, 51, said then that she would continue to go on leave if her husband would run for the national elections.
The popular broadcaster said that she will decide in June 2016 if she will resume her newscast duties for “TV Patrol.”
Sanchez had wanted to focus on the rights of the LGBT (lesbian, gays, bisexual, transgender) community, preservation of the marine life and financial literacy for women if Roxas would win, during an interview for “24 Oras” on GMA-7 recently.
She added that she will continue to give slippers and shoes to the youth.
