MAYOR AND VICE – Yesterday Highspeed enumerated showbiz winners and losers in the Senate and House of Representatives. More and more… this time focused on local candidates.
Let’s start with winning mayors led by reelected Joseph Estrada of Manila. Ditto Lani Mercado of Bacoor, Dan Fernandez of Santa Rosa, Herbert Bautista of Quezon City, Richard Gomez of Ormoc (at long last), Guia Gomez of San Juan (reelected), Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez of Tacloban.
Not as lucky are Daisy Reyes of Pateros, Lito Lapid of Angeles.
Andrea del Rosario won as vice mayor of Calatagan, Batangas. Also Janella Ejercito of San Juan (daughter of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and the former Precy Vitug).

GOVERNOR AND VICE – ER Ejercito lost in his bid to return as Laguna governor.
For vice governor, winners are Daniel Fernando of Bulacan and Jolo Revilla of Cavite (son of Sen. Bong Revilla and Bacoor Mayor-elect Lani Mercado).
Not as lucky are Angelina Jones of Laguna, Gary Estrada of Quezon, and Philip Salvador of Bulacan.

COUNCILOR – In Quezon City, the City of Stars, the new and old councilors include Hero Bautista (brother of Mayor Herbert), Roderick Paulate, Gian Sotto, Kate Coseteng.
In years past, Mario Montenegro, Fred Montilla, and Amado Cortez served as QC councilors.
In Makati elected councilors were Jhong Hilario, Rico Puno.
In Paranaque: Vandolph, Jomari Yllana, Roselle Nava won seats in the council.
Lance Raymundo didn’t make it in San Juan.
In Pasig, the new councilors include Vico Sotto, son of Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes.
In Caloocan, Christopher Malonzo won a seat in the city council. A few years back, Dennis Padilla and Marjorie Barretto were Caloocan councilors.
