Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao has been forced to postpone his trip to London after his team failed to finish off title foes Alaska Aces Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Guiao was set to leave Saturday night but had to reschedule the trip after the E-Painters, up 3-0, lost to the Aces, 111-99 in Game 4 of their best-of-7 Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup title series.
Guiao would be attending the graduation of daughter and lawyer Cecilia Therese Guiao who completed her master’s degree on International Relations at Cambridge.
Mga kapatid nya – Jomig and Tin-Tin – nauna na, kung wala kami, may kasama man lang siya sa graduation niya,” said Guiao. “Of course you feel proud that she’s graduating from a very prestigious school. Iba talaga kapag mana sa utak ng nanay.”
Rain or Shine is still ahead 3-1 in the series, and a win tonight will wrap up a second championship for the franchise owned by Raymund Yu and Terry Que after winning their first during the 2012 Governors’ Cup.
“Kung di matapos ng Sunday, baka di na kami umalis,” Guiao said. (Waylon P. Galvez)
