Broadcast giant ABS-CBN has said that it is looking into the case of its journalist Doris Bigornia who allegedly threatened a regional television crew of its rival network GMA 7.
The network’s full statement read:
“ABS-CBN News is investigating the incident involving journalist Doris Bigornia that was the subject of an open letter/complaint by a GMA reporter;
“Bigornia has given her side of the story and we are now evaluating the claims and counter-claims of the two reporters;
“We have also reached out to the GMA reporter to discuss the issue;
“As we continue to investigate, we assure the public of our commitment to uphold the provisions of our Ethics and Standards Manual,” the statement said.
ABS-CBN issued the statement after Paul Sarsuelo Seniel, a GMA 7 reporter from Davao City, said in an open letter posted on his Facebook recently that Bigornia was rude and impolite to the Kapuso Mindanao regional news team.
Seniel said that DMNG Engineer Al Lim Ramz had politely told Bigornia to excuse herself from the camera “since you became an eye sore to my live report.”
