CESAR ON FREEDOM, ET AL: Excerpts from our conversation with Cesar Montano.
Why he loves painting: It gives me freedom. I’m in control of my material, my canvas, my oil, my life. Painting gives me peace, serenity, which is a very rare commodity these days. It’s a good way to de-stress after a long day.
Personal freedom: The annulment case (with ex-wife Sunshine Cruz) isn’t over, so I can’t say I have complete freedom.
His children: I miss my children (by Sunshine Cruz) a lot. I haven’t seen them in a year, although we communicate by text now and then. I feel they’re not free to get in touch with me.
Positive mode: Despite the situation I’m in, I try to remain positive. I believe there’s a right time for peace and harmony to reign. Darating din ‘yan.

THE KING OF MASKS: Cesar has just wrapped a short season of “Bakit Manipis ang Ulap” on TV5. In July, he’s launching a new game show, “The King of Masks,” also on the same channel. “It’s something like ‘Singing Bee’,” he said.
He’s also running for a congressional seat under the Aangat Tayo party list, whose advocacies include education and health for the youth and the elderly.

SHARON WANTS TO WORK WITH PIOLO, JLC: Here are excerpts from a recent chat with Sharon Cuneta, who recently signed a new two-year contract with ABS-CBN.
The Voice Kids 2: As a coach, I have learned my lesson. Napaso na ako. I will be stricter, more rigid. I will try harder to find a balance between being motherly and honest to the kids.
On new roles: I will be more open to varied roles this time. I want to transform into a more serious actress.
On future co-actors: I look forward to working with actors such as PJ (Piolo Pascual), John Lloyd, marami pa.
Sharon and Piolo had a falling-out in the past, but things have been settled between them.
Sharon said she has been working hard to lose more weight in preparation for a family-oriented film she’s set to do this year under Star Cinema. The megastar is also committed to star in an indie film where she’ll play a really challenging role.
Lea Salonga and Bamboo reprise their roles as fellow coaches in “The Voice Kids 2.”
