Reigning Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach has reassured fans that everything is alright between her and Dr. Mikhail Varshavski, popularly known as Dr. Mike.
“Kalma lang po! Okay naman ang lahat,” said Wurtzbach on Twitter, after fans have expressed concern about her relationship with the famous Russian doctor.
Last May 14, fans suspected that Wurtzbach and Varshavski have split after the beauty queen posted an intriguing cryptic message on social media which said: “Boy, I’m a prize not a catch.”
Netizens were insistent about what really happened between the lovers.
On May 17, Wurtzbach apologized to Varshavski in Pilipino without going into details.
“Nagkamali lang po ng pagkaintindi at pagkasagot. Pasensya na po. Maraming salamat po. Okay na po ba, doc?”
Wurtzbach said in a tweet.
Moments later, the Filipino-German beauty queen followed it with another post: “Hindi naintindihan ni kuya. Pa translate naman po sa kanya.”
After 10 minutes, Wurtzbach tweeted again: “Baka replayan ako ng Russian. Dibale may German at Bisaya pa akong baon.”
Varshavski surprised Wurtzbach with a reply in Pilipino. “Ok lang [Pia] na nagkamali ang pagkaintindi mo at sagot.
Naiintindihan ko. Lahat ng bagay at lahat ay mabuti.”“Nag aaral lang ngayon ng Tagalog. Mabuhay Philippines!”
Varshavski added.
In March, Wurtzbach has confirmed that she was in a relationship with Varshavski.
The “Sexiest Doctor Alive” according to People’s Magazine is still getting used to the Filipino tradition of courting, she said.
“I’m dating. He’s adjusting to the Filipino ways a lot because it’s very different, the culture is very different. I had to explain to him how it is in the Philippines, kung papaano ba manligaw. Alam ba nya kung ano ang ibig sabihin ng panliligaw? Ginagawa naman n’ya. He’s a true gentleman,” said Wurtzbach in an interview in “Tonight With Boy Abunda” over ABS-CBN last month.
“Medyo naninibago rin ako sa kanya kasi iba ’yung kultura nila. At naninibago rin sya sa akin because medyo reserved ako. May barrier ako eh. S’ya naman dahil duon sya lumaki, straightforward sya. May mga adjustments but so far, everything is OK,” she added.
Wurtzbach, 26, said that Varshavski who is based in New Jersey has been understanding about her situation. She also told him that her duties for the Miss Universe Organization are her priorities these days.
