4 p.m. – Ceres vs Agila
Ceres-La Salle and Kaya seek convincing victories before next week’s Round of 16 matches in the AFC Cup when they face separate rivals today in the United Football League at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Both clubs are expected to rest their key players even as they continue to prepare for the AFC Cup.
Ceres will host Hong Kong side South China on Tuesday at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City while Kaya looks to pull off a stunning upset over defending champion and Malaysian Super League powerhouse Johor Darul Ta’zim on Wednesday in Johor Bahru.
Aside from the AFC preparation, the two clubs are also aiming to climb up in the standings, as Ceres is coming off a 6-0 thrashing of Nomads for its first league win after losing to the Loyola Meralco Sparks, 3-2, in the opener, while Kaya fell 1-0 to Stallion last Sunday.
They have three points apiece through the third week of the season, lagging behind Global which has 12 points in four matches.
