JUST A THOUGHT: “You will recognize your own path when you come upon it, because you will suddenly have all the energy and imagination you will ever need.” – Jerry Gillies

MAGKAIBANG GANDA: Beauty in contrast is what comedian Betong Sumaya and actress Sheena Halili achieve in their first TV project together, GMA’s comedy-game show “Laff Camera Action!”
The odd couple swears to bring happier weekends starting in the afternoon of May 28.
Veteran comedy writer and director Cesar Cosme, seating at the head table with the odd couple, said that the Betong-Sheena tandem works in the same mode of fat and thin, tall and short, beauty and the beast!
Ouch!
Betong, discovered via reality TV, didn’t cry foul. He knows his territory, even encourages the spread of jokes surrounding his lack of physical grandeur.

ACID TEST FOR COMEDIANS: In a more serious tone, both said they were excited to host the 30-minute game show, “Laff, Camera, Action!,” dubbed as an improvisational program that will pit contestants in unscripted, unrehearsed scenarios.
Aside from entertaining contestants from TV, stage, comedy bars, the show will also open its doors to fresh talent, newcomers looking for that one big break.
The show comes close on the heels of network’s successful ventures in the comedy genre, namely “Celebrity Bluff” and “Picture! Picture!”

SHEENA’S FIRST: “Laff, Camera, Action!” is Sheena’s first hosting job after having worked as an actress the past 10 years. During that time, Sheena proved herself capable of doing both dramatic and comic roles.
She’s grateful to GMA for believing in her ability to host, although she admits she’s feeling quite nervous.
To determine the winning team, a panel of three judges will evaluate and score the performances. The panel is composed of Caesar Cosme, Gladys Guevarra and Sef Cadayona.
At the media launch, I asked Betong and Gladys to act out, impromptu style, a comic scenario where a couple is about to break up after the recent election. One voted for Duterte, the other for Roxas.
What happened was an exchange of barbs that sent all of us in the media laughing out loud.
