JED Madela takes his concert to the next level when he performs songs by foreign female acts.
Madela said that the series of shows dubbed “The Iconic Concert Series” will only feature songs by pop divas Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Madonna, Barbra Streisand, Christina Aguilera, and Gloria Estefan.
The show will kick off at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan on May 28 at 8:30 p.m. Carey’s songs will be featured this month.
“Stressful ito at malaki ang pressure dahil inuna ko si Mariah Carey,” said Madela, 38, who just arrived from a series of shows in Australia with Kyla and Negi for The Filipino Channel (TFC).
Madela, who is known for his unique wide vocal range, enumerated the tunes “Hero,” “Make It Happen,” and “Can’t Take That Away,” as his favorite Mariah songs.
“Every month, an icon is featured in my show. It will be on a monthly basis. After Mariah, I will perform songs by Celine in the next concert. Then Madonna and Whitney,” said Madela, in an interview for “Tonight with Boy Abunda” aired over ABS-CBN.
Also, Madela said that he has launched his Jed Madela app for his supporters and followers.
“It all started with the requests series concerts. Then after matapos ang request concert series, tuluy-tuloy pa rin ’yung requests nila,” he said.
“So I asked myself why don’t I put out a YouTube Channel to give in to their requests? But everybody is on YouTube so sabi ko let’s do a mobile app,” Madela said.
“I come out with videos every week. My schedules, photos, and blogs. Hindi naman expensive. More than the bayad, nakakapagod but fulfilling na maglagay ng material doon,” he added.
“Everybody is holding their phones these days. So it’s the easiest way to connect with your fans or followers. You have to give what they want,” Madela said.
Madela also said that he has released a new music video called “That’s the Way It Is” originally done by Dion.
Joining him are the members of the group “5th Gen” who are champions in the World Championship of Performing Arts in the US.
