REAL-life couple Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco, popularly known as Melason, denied that they have split, according to a report on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” aired on ABS-CBN recently.
“Hindi po tutoo yun. Nawala po yung (Instagram) account namin,” said Francisco. “Melason, wag po kayong mag-alala.
Ok na ok po kami ni Melai. I love you, ha.’’
Followers of the couple have expressed concern after successive posts on social media of what seemed to be a couple’s quarrel. The latest post claimed that Melason was over.
Even photos of Francisco, 28, have been deleted on Instagram. Reports also said that Cantiveros was seen crying in the dressing room of her morning show “Magandang Buhay.”
Abunda said that the couple is going through rough times these days, according to his reliable sources.
“Ayon sa mga mapagkakatiwalaang sources, nagkakaroon daw ng problema si Jason at si Melai. Isa ako dun sa malulungkot kung maghihiwalay sila Jason at si Melai dahil sa madami nilang pinagdaanan to save this relationship.
Kung nasaan man yung masaya nilang pagsasama ay madami silang pinagdaanang sakrispisyo aside from the fact that I was a witness at how much they love each other,” said Abunda.
The late-night talk show host advised the couple to avoid the social media if they really have a problem.
“Melai, Jason, avoid social media at this point. Jason, I know that even if you deny and that’s the gentleman’s way of handling this problem, may mga nagsasabing yes they were going through certain problems,” Abunda said.
“Whatever it is, whether it has something to do with work or personal, stop expressing your feelings through social media dahil ang hirap bawiin,” he added.
“Sana nga na-hack lamang, I will not also discount that possibility. But according to my sources ay meron daw talagang problema. You cannot fake halimbawa yung kalungkutan ni Melai sa set ng ‘Magandang Buhay’ and all these pronouncements about this relationship being over. Natural ang mga mag asawa ay may mga pinagdadaanan at may mga problema, pero natural din na kahit anong problema ay nalalampasan,” said Abunda.
Abunda urged the couple to fight for their love amid marital woes. “Ito lamang ang aking sasabihin – Melai and Jason, coming from a 33-year-relationship and coming from an imperfect story, your love should be bigger than your problem. And for as long as there is love, fight for it.”
In 2009, Cantiveros, 28, was the big winner of “Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up” on ABS-CBN. Francisco placed third in the same reality show. They got married in December 2013. They have a daughter named Amelia Lucille.
