A Filipino is among the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives for the murder of his pregnant girlfriend and her unborn fetus in the Rampart area of Los Angeles, California, last April.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 (roughly R4.7 million) for information leading directly to the arrest of 39-year-old Philip Patrick Policarpio who was charged with two counts of first-degree murder on April 22 in Los Angeles.
The fatal shooting occurred on April 12 during a gathering with friends in the 500 block of N. Virgil Ave. in the East Hollywood, Los Angeles.
Policarpio got into an argument with his girlfriend Lauren Olguin who was 17 weeks pregnant at the time.
Based on the accounts of witnesses, the suspect beat the victim with his fists, pulled out a gun, and shot her in the head in front of the guests, killing her instantly.
Policarpio is considered armed and extremely dangerous, according to the FBI. He was paroled in May 2015 after serving time for a 2001 assault with a firearm conviction. His 14-year sentence came from a 2000 crime in Burbank, California where he fired nine shots into a vehicle during a dispute.
A profile issued by the United States prime federal law enforcement agency described Policarpio as 5 feet 8 inches tall and 150 to 165 pounds and has tattoos on his chest, including one that reads “Only God Can Judge Me,” and on his back, both arms, and left thigh.
He has moles on his right nostril, near his left nostril, and below his right lip, and a scar near his left eye. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Policarpio may wear glasses and his head may be shaved, according to the FBI. He goes by the aliases Damon Hiromi Tanaka, Damon Hiromi Tanak, Damon Tanaka, Philip Policardio, Paul Policarpio, Phillip Policarpio, Bugsy, Sinister, and Sins.
The FBI said Policarpio, who is known to abuse illegal drugs, may have traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, and has previous ties to the Philippines.
