DASMARIÑAS, Cavite – A young woman died last Saturday while her teenage friend was wounded when they were held in a shanty where they were stabbed by four men in Barangay Sta. Lucia here.
Police identified the fatality as Julie Ann Aringo Baguino, 22, a resident of Barangay Paliparan III, Dasmariñas City who is reportedly a girlfriend of one of the suspects, Nabel Maruon.
According to case investigator PO3 Aaron Valerio Abesamis, Baguino who was said to have been mistakenly accused of being a police asset, was on her way to Maruon’s place together with her 15-year-old companion Friday morning in Sanitary Compound.
Baguino was set to hand over R15,000 to Maruon which will supposedly be used by the suspect to buy shabu. The victims however were hogtied at gunpoint by the suspects later identified as Saipodin Dalidig Camedi, 23, a vendor, Jabel Garcia, a certain “Ruben” and Maruon.
One of the suspects was said to have hit Baguino with a hammer in the head before being stabbed multiple times.
Baguino’s companion was also stabbed and reportedly sexually molested but was able to escape later after pretending to be dead while they were being attacked.
The victim immediately sought help through their village officials who in turn reported the crime to the nearby Police Community Precint II.
Baguino’s body was later on discovered while manhunt operation was immediately done by the police to pursue the suspects.
Camedi was arrested by the police while hiding in a vacant building near the shanty after he was positively identified by the victim.
While the three other suspects are still being pursued, cases of attempted murder and acts of lasciviousness are being readied by the police which are set to be filed today at the city prosecutor’s office.
