Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, son of incoming President Rodrigo Duterte, has denied romantic links to actress Ellen Adarna as he thanked her for campaigning for his father.
The younger Duterte made the reaction following reports that he and Adarna were playing sweet music together.
Baste issued astatement to the late-night show “Tonight With Boy Abunda” on ABS-CBN that was read by the television host during its broadcast last Tuesday.
“May common friends kami kaya kami nagkasama-sama. Pagkakataon ko na rin na magpasalamat sa kanya kasi very vocal s’ya sa pagsuporta sa papa ko during the campaign. Ganon lang ka simple. Pero expected ko na rin na intrigahin kami,” said Baste.
Adarna, 26, has also denied rumors between her and the Presidential son.
Abunda thanked Baste for the statement. He commented that Baste has embraced the fact that he is now a national figure.
“Nagpapatunay lamang na Baste has embraced the fact that he has become a national figure;
“Of course, public figure ang kanyang ama sa Davao and now it has taken a different level so he has embraced it at nakaka-believe. Maraming salamat Baste once again,” Abunda said.
Baste is the third and youngest son of President Duterte by ex-wife Elizabeth Zimmerman. His siblings are eldest brother Paolo, new vice mayor of Davao City, and lawyer Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio, mayor of the same city.
President Duterte also has a 12-year-old daughter named Veronica by partner Cielito “Honeylet” Avancena.
Baste is also a single parent who stays with his two children. He has a junk shop business and lives in a house next to his father’s house in Davao City. He loves singing and surfing.
In April, Adarna admitted that she was in a relationship with a foreigner.
The actress was previously linked to actor Ejay Falcon who at that time was her co-star in the Kapamilya afternoon soap “Pasion de Amor.”
