The daughters of incoming Vice President Leni Robredo said on Tuesday night that they do not see their mother getting married again in the future, during their first public interview on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” over ABS-CBN.
When asked a hypothetical question if one day their mother decides to get married again, second eldest daughter Janine Patricia “Tricia” Robredo said: “Ako po ang answer ko d’yan hindi talaga nagbabago. Mas tutol pa talaga ako sa pag-aasawa n’ya uli kesa sa pagtakbo nya bilang vice president kasi ayoko talaga;
“Hindi ko talaga ma-imagine s’ya anyone else but my dad. In-assure naman kami ng mama ko na masayang masaya syang nakasama ang father naming nuong mga nakaraang taon,” said Tricia.
“Enough love for her to last a lifetime,” added eldest daughter Jessica Marie “Aika” Robredo, an executive assistant at the Office of Civil Defense.
Leni has three daughters – Aika, Tricia and Jillian Therese.
Tricia believes that their father the late Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo was “present” when the National Board of Canvassers finished the official count for president and vice president last May 27.
Leni emerged winner in a tight race with Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for vice president.
“Mahilig talaga sya (Jesse) sa surprises nung nabubuhay pa sya so parang ito ’yung one way of assuring us na andyan s’ya kahit physically hindi namin sya kasama,” said Aika.
Jesse Robredo died in a plane crash on August 18, 2012. His body was retrieved three days later on Aug. 21, some 180 feet below sea level.
The sisters said that they were initially against the decision of their mom to run for vice president but later changed their mind.
