CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS, Cavite – Three persons, including an octogenarian, died while another one was injured in road accidents on Wednesday and Thursday in Cavite province.
Police Provincial Office (PPO) reports identified two of the three fatalities as Gabriel Dimaano Tibayan, 84; Joevert Elles Bustamante, 24, a factory worker.
Injured was Marvin Diaz Nabjo, 25, Bustamante’s companion, also a factory worker.
The third fatality was a driver in a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon near the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) on Governors Drive in Barangay Manggahan, General Trias. The identity of the victim and the accident facts have yet to be confirmed.
The first fatality was Tibayan, a pedestrian who was hit by an Isuzu Elf truck (852) Wednesday morning on C.M. de los Reyes Avenue in Barangay Banay-Banay, Amadeo.
Tibayan succumbed to body injuries at Ospital ng Tagaytay.
Police arrested the truck driver – one Roman Aclany De la Roca, of Bulihan, Rosario, Batangas province.
De la Roca fled driving the truck to Tagaytay but he eventually surrendered to city policemen who were informed by the Amadeo police about the accident
In a report, PO1 Glenford Dolor Alcaraz, case investigator, said that reckless imprudence resulting in homicide will be filed against De la Roca.
Another report said that Bustamante and Nabjo sustained injuries after the Honda Wave motorcycle (1278 WG) they were riding accidentally hit a Talisay tree at the side of Arnaldo Highway in Barangay Sta Clara, General Trias.
The accident happened as Bustamante was driving the motorcycle, with Nabjo as back rider, along the road at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Bustamante, who suffered head injuries, died while being treated at Divine Grace Medical Center in General Trias at past 2 a.m.. (Anthony Giron)
