An 18-year-old girl is fighting for her life after she was allegedly mauled by her 22-year-old stepmother in Quezon City Wednesday, police said yesterday.
The victim was almost unconscious when she was found by her auntie in her father’s home on Dollar St., Phase 8, Barangay North Fairview at around 6 p.m. on June 1.
According to the victim’s auntie, the victim was slumped on the floor, “nearly dying,” and had severe bruises all over her body and was vomiting when she found her.
“Hindi naman mangyayari ‘yun kung magkasundo sila. Kung in good terms naman tatratuhin niya nang maayos. Ayaw tanggapin kasi yung anak ng kinakasama niya,” Quezon City Police District Station 5 chief Supt. Alex Alberto said.
The suspect had been the live in partner of the victim’s father who is now in his 50s, for three years. The victim had two siblings from her stepmother, police said.
The victim’s father had asked her auntie to fetch her from their apartment and bring her to her biological mother who lives in Bulacan.
The auntie rushed the victim to a health center in Malabon City but was not admitted due to lack of facilities. The victim was taken to a hospital in Manila and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. (Vanne Elaine P. Terrazola)
