A day before the June 8 deadline, only 20 national candidates have so far filed their Statements of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCEs) at the Commission on Elections main office in Intramuros, Manila.
Among them former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Senator Ralph Recto, actress Alma Moreno, and Allan Montano who all ran for senator.
For partylist, the groups that already submitted are ABANG LINGKOD, AGAP, ALL FISH, 1-ABILIDAD, ANG KABUHAYAN, ABS, ANGKLA, ANAKPAWIS, KALINGA, SENIOR CITIZENS, MARINO, ANAC-IP, BUTIL, 1-SAGIP, MTM PHILS, and ABONO.
No candidate for president or vice president have so far submitted their SOCE.
Based on their SOCE’s, total contributions received by Lacson was P90,474,233.76 while his expenditures was at P87,935,535.91.
Lacson also filed before the Comelec Campaign Finance Office a Notice of Return of Cash Donation, informing the body that he has returned the unspent cash donation amounting to P2,538,697.85 to his campaign contributors Jaime dela Cruz and Renato Paredes.
Total contributions for Recto, meantime, amounted to P111,650,000 while his spending was at P131,867,403.89 while Moreno declared zero contributions and a spending of P134,233.03.
Later in the day, senatorial candidates Getulio Napeñas and Sarrangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao also filed their SOCE’s.
Napeñas received a total contribution of P407,680 and spent P2,770,908.09. Pacquiao received zero contribution while his total expenditure was P66,428,468.88. (Leslie Aquino)
