‘SECRET’ – Ever Understanding wife best describes this lady. Which is the “secret” of their decades-old marriage.
She has accepted the fact, the reality that her husband is an incurable womanizer and learned to live with the situation. And understands it.
A friend of the couple relates that one time they were in the US shopping. The wife (not from showbiz) noticed her husband (from showbiz) seemed uneasy, as if he wanted to buy something but was hesitant to do so. So she said, “Baka may gusto kang bilhin?” True enough he had a long list of “pasalubong.”
The wife knew right away the “pasalubong” were for his mistresses and their children. Ever understanding lady volunteered to buy them… to the relief of the husband.
“Now you know why their marriage is solid,” the friend earlier mentioned laughed.

‘PASAYAHAN’ WINNERS – Jay P. Delgado reports on the winners of the recent “Pasayahan” in Lucena City.
THE Pasayahan sa Lucena, an annual merry-making event in Quezon Province’s capital, successfully staged the much-awaited Grand Flores de Mayo last May 24 that was participated in by 28 talented members of the Quezon Designers Association of the Philippines (QDAP).
Shapely serpentine-cut creations in yellow and/or light blue (this year’s color motifs) were worn by young beauteous “sagalas” with dashing escorts and wowed the crowd that lined up the procession route from Pacific Mall all the way to the covered court of Maryhill College. The covered court was transformed into a ballroom for the traditional offering of flowers to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the judging and awarding of this year’s winning ensembles.
“I am so elated with the turnout of this year’s Flores de Mayo, the biggest and best-staged, according to the locals,” said Armhand Remojo, renowned Lucena couturier who chaired the staging of the event. “I am very thankful to all the people who have helped and supported me especially (re-elected) Mayor Rodrick “Dondon” Alcala, our Hermano Dr. Edwin J. Pureza and Hermana Carlina Delgado-Reyes, my colleagues in the fashion industry led by Arielle Agasang.”
