Actress Alma Concepcion yesterday said that she had sleepless nights after she witnessed a girl slowly collapsing in front of her during a concert in Pasay City last month.
Concepcion was invited by the National Bureau of Investigation-Death Investigation Division yesterday to give a statement that might help speed up the probe on the drug-related death of five persons in the concert.
Concepcion, who attended the event with her son and five others, said she saw a group of teenagers in front of her near the stage who were allegedly not on just alcohol as their eyes were rolling, their teeth grinding, and were dancing for more than an hour.
The actress’s lawyer, Py Caunan, who also went to the event, said she saw around 30 teenagers who were using inhalers and were either chewing gum, sucking pacifiers, or wearing face masks to conceal their teeth grinding.
These teenagers were also allegedly passing the inhalers around.
“Hindi malayong nakadrugs sila. Iba facial expression nila e. Panay ang nguya wala namang kinakain,” Caunan said.
Concepcion said that she was sure that they were not first timers.
Concepcion said that she was shocked when she saw a teenaged girl around 18-years-old slowly collapsing in front of her. The girl allegedly collapsed while trying to cling into her boyfriend. Caunan even had to run to the nearest bouncer to help bring the girl to a medical post.
“Kung ang lasing nag-collapse, magiging parang vegetable siya. Pero siya iba, she was stiff,” Concepcion said. “Very traumatic. Nakakatakot. After that, one week kaming lahat hindi kami nakatulog. Tuwing nakapikit ako nakikita ko yung mukha nung bata na nakadilat bago pumikit,” she added.
Caunan said they will help with the investigation as much as they can. She also encouraged other witnesses to come out and help with the investigation. (Argyll Cyrus B. Geducos)
