Seventeen persons were arrested in a series of anti-illegal drug operations in Quezon City over the weekend.
The Quezon City Police District identified the suspects as Apple Ramos, 32; Richard Talana, 19; Efren Cardeño, 28; Giovanni Acebedo, 52; Alfredo Salcena, 50; Marlon Mohammed, 38; Roy Mansalapuz, 25;
Jhon Santos, 23; Paulo Ramos, 20; Arjie Gabuyan, 23; Jose Charlie Calipusan, 42; Nestor Corpuz; Danilo Galano, 59; Zandrix Milan, 34; Krisel Rodriguez, 24; Mark Angelo Peralta, and Walter Cleofas, 39, of Poblacion 4, General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite.
They were collared in separate buy-bust operations from 5 a.m. Friday to 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Barangays Paltok, Masambong, San Antonio, Tatalon, Doña Imelda, Payatas, Sta. Lucia, Capri, and Batasan Hills.
More than 20 sachets of suspected shabu and some sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana were seized from the suspects. Police have yet to determine the total street value of the illegal drugs seized. (Vanne Elaine P. Terrazola)
