During her concert in Miami, Selena Gomez delivered an emotional performance of Hillsong Worship’s song ‘Transfiguration’ for her good friend, Christina Grimmie.
Earlier, the ‘Hands to Myself’ singer cancelled her meet and greet session for the same show to mourn for her friend’s death.
Before performing the song, Selena emotionally shared with the crowd about Christina’s faith, “One thing about Christina and her family is that she holds her faith so closely to her…It’s not about religion. It’s not about anything or good deeds. It’s just that she had faith and I don’t really understand how this really happened, but I would like to dedicate this song to her.”
The two became close after Christina joined the US leg of Selena’s ‘We Own the Night’ tour as a support act.
Grimmie’s former ‘The Voice’ coach, Adam Levine, also expressed his sadness over the young singer’s unfortunate passing by posting a throwback photo of him and Grimmie on Instagram.
Christina Grimmie was shot dead at a concert venue in Florida on June 10 by a man named Kevin James Loibl from St. Petersburg, Florida. She was only 22.
Through his official Facebook page, Adam Levine called Grimmie’s incident as “another senseless act of extreme violence.” (MB Online)
