F2 Logistics made its title campaign felt yesterday as it edged Cignal, 25-12, 23-25, 25-20, 25-11, at the start of the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
The Cargo Movers, composed mostly of former La Salle standouts, leaned on veterans Aby Maraño and Paneng Mercado at the attack line to pick up their first victory in the tournament.
Maraño fired 17 points including five blocks and three aces, while Mercado chipped in 11 points for F2, which also got enough reinforcement from first-timer Ara Galang to recover from a second-set meltdown en route to the win.
Galang, the league’s No. 1 draft pick, also finished with 11 points highlighted by 10 kills.
