BACOOR, Cavite – A female student was robbed of her cell phone and cash by a man using a toy gun at an overpass in Barangay Niog in this city.
Police identified the suspect as Lorenzo Villarin Petallana, a part-time driver and a resident of Bacoor.
Case investigator PO3 Michael Villanueva Legaspi Jr. said that the robbery happened as the student was walking alone at the overpass Thursday night.
The suspect reportedly approached and poked the said ‘gun’ on the victim then took her mobile phone said to be worth P3,000 as well as cash amounting to P1,500.
The suspect then casually walked away from the victim who immediately shouted for help that caught the attention of bystanders.
A chase ensued which led to the bystanders nabbing Petallana.
Recovered from the suspect was a .45 cal. pellet pistol as well as the victim’s phone. He was later on brought to the Bacoor Sector 15 police precinct.
Villanueva said that robbery charges willbe filed against the suspect who was detained at the said police station.
