Basketball star James Yap of Star Hotshots and Italian girlfriend Michela Cazzola have announced in their baby shower that their firstborn will be named Michael James.
The event was held at the Le Jardin French Restaurant, Penthouse of W Building at the Fort in Taguig City last June 18. It was hosted by television personality Christine Bersola-Babao.
Among the guests during the baby shower were Mark Cardona, Joseph Yeo, and Jason Webb.
Yap, 34, has been in a relationship with Cazzola since 2012 after the annulment of his marriage with TV host-actress Kris Aquino.
This will be Cazzola’s first baby. She is set to give birth in six weeks, after she confirmed her pregnancy in February.
Cazzola is an Italian who works as an executive at the Asian Development Bank in Mandaluyong City.
Yap, two-time Philippine Basketball Association Most Valuable Player (PBA MVP), has a son with Aquino and another child with an ex-girlfriend.
In an Instagram post on Feb. 25, Aquino said that it was best for her to “just keep quiet” about the issue of Cazzola’s pregnancy and that their son Bimby was okay. “That’s what matters to me.”
