MOSCOW (PNA/Sputnik) – At least 15 people were killed and 25 were wounded in a terrorist attack in a hotel in Mogadishu, capital of Somalia, Saturday.
Most of those killed and wounded were passers-by and customers of nearby stores, the CNN news channel cited police Col. Mohamed Abdulkadir as saying. A senior police official said fighting is continuing inside the Naso-Hablod hotel after it was stormed by militants, reportedly belonging to the al-Shabaab Islamist group.
A car bomb was detonated at the gate ahead of the attack. Islamists reportedly took people hostage inside the hotel, which is popular with foreigners and officials.
