Actress Dawn Zulueta and husband Davao del Norte Rep. Antonio Lagdameo Jr. have sought the help of the National Bureau of Investigation after they received death threats recently.
In a letter to NBI Director Virgilio Mendez, they disclosed that that they have received threatening text messages, one on May 14, or five days after elections.
They dismissed and thought it had something to do with the elections and was nothing serious. The text message contained an unsolicited advice to call their people in Cotabato and informed them that they are being monitored since they arrived in Davao.
Another text message received on May 26 called Lagdameo ‘Dakilang Magaling na Tao ni Macoy’ and gave him a brotherly advice to stop meddling as he may regret it later. Lagdameo supported the vice presidential bid of Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.
However, the family was alarmed when an unidentified man tried to abduct their son on June 22. It failed when the boy’s security escort arrived. The suspect escaped when the escort brushed him off.
There were also men spotted taking pictures of Lagdameo’s son while on board a Toyota Innova with no license plates.
Four men onboard two motorcycles also reportedly asked the actress’ whereabouts and schedule while she was filming a movie in Laguna.
Lagdameo’s household workers reportedly noticed a vehicle parked in front of Lagdameo’s house in Makati City.
The couple asked the NBI to help them determine the people behind the threats and their motive behind it.
