TAAL, Batangas – An employee of the municipal assessor’s office was gunned down by two motorcycle-riding men while on his way home in Barangay Zone 1, near the public market in this town, Monday morning.
SPO2 Simeon M. de Leon, officer on case, said the victim identified as Eduardo D, 57, assessment clerk II at Assessors Office, sustained multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of the body. He was declared dead on arrival at Our Lady of Caysasay Hospital in Lemery town.
De Leon said the victim was driving his motorcycle on his way home in Barangay Zone 6 at about 11:45 a.m. when the suspects, who were also riding on a motorcycle, approached him. The backrider shot him several times.
The suspects, both clad in black jackets, then sped off towards Lemery.
Probers recovered from the crime scene were six spent shells and two slugs from .45-caliber pistol.
