ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two minors were wounded Monday night when two motorcycle-riding men lobbed grenades at the house of the newly elected vice mayor of Tabuan Lasa in Basilan province.
Police said the explosion occurred about 7 p.m. at the house of Hadji Samir Manisan, village chief of Buku Tumus, Tabuan, and now the elected vice mayor of the town.
Base on police investigation, the grenades were hurled from outside by unidentified men and exploded inside the premises of Haj Manisan’s house.
Police identified the wounded victims as Suraini Aiman Manisan and Ahmad Aiman Manisan both minors. They were rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Investigators recovered from the crime scene two safety levers, pins and MK2 grenade fragments inside the house of Manisan.
Police said the explosion also partially damaged the house of the vice mayor. (NONOY E. LACSON)
