Top Rank chief Bob Arum might find himself on a flight bound for Manila next week to see if it is viable and realistic to stage a Manny Pacquiao comeback fight on Oct. 15 in Las Vegas.
Arum, 84, has reserved the 10,000-capacity Mandalay Bay Events Center as venue for a possible Pacquiao return.
Top Rank had no choice but to book the date as rival companies have started to make their move in saving dates for fights in Sin City.
Even though Arum reserved it, it doesn’t mean that Pacquiao will headline a card being planned for that day.
Adrien Broner and Terence Crawford are being talked about as possible foes for Pacquiao, who announced his retirement last April after beating Tim Bradley at the much bigger MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Crawford has to hurdle past one-time Pacquiao sparmate Viktor Postol of Ukraine on July 23 to become a candidate.
