Air Force and BaliPure aim to arrange a championship duel when they battle their respective rivals in the semifinals of the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Jet Spikers collide the Laoag Power Smashers at 4 p.m., while the Water Defenders clash with the Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors at 6:30 p.m. in their bid to sweep their best-of-three semis affairs and advance in the title round.
Air Force and BaliPure gained the needed advantage three days back with the Lady Jet Spikers surviving the persistent Power Smashers, 25-20, 26-24, 26-24, and the Water Defenders downing the skidding Lady Warriors, 25-20, 25-19, 26-24.
The dynamic duo of Judy Caballejo and Joy Cases are expected to fuel Air Force anew after combining for 30 points the last time, but Coach Jasper Jimenez said they are not taking Laoag lightly as the memory of their elims loss to the same squad remains a lesson in their campaign.
“Ine-expect namin na babangon ang Laoag. Hindi rin madali yung panalo namin sa kanila nung Game 1,” said Jimenez.
