Stephan Schrock scored two goals as Ceres-La Salle moved closer towards advancing to the semifinals after a 3-0 victory over Brunei DPMM on Thursday in the first leg of the Singapore Cup quarterfinals at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
Schrock found the back of the net in the 26th and 72nd minutes as the defending United Football League champions dominated Brunei right from the opening whistle to gain a big advantage heading into tomorrow’s return leg at the same pitch.
Manny Ott struck the opening goal 16 minutes after the start to set the tone for Ceres’ dominant showing.
Ceres is looking to become the third Filipino club to reach the semifinal round, joining the Loyola Meralco Sparks and Global.
Global, on the other hand, needs a miracle performance today after losing 3-1 to the Tampines Rovers in their quarters duel.
