CAMP GENERAL ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan – An alleged leader of a drug group and three other drug suspects were killed in separate police operations that started Thursday in the towns of Norzagaray and Hagonoy, and in Malolos City.
Senior Supt. Romeo M. Caramat Jr., acting Bulacan police director, identified two of the slain suspects as Keith Gibson del Pilar of Norzagaray; Lamberto Cruz Morales and Lauro Reyes, alias Lupin, both of Hagonoy, Bulacan.
Police have yet to establish the identity of another suspect killed in Malolos City shootout.
According to Senior Supt. Caramat, Norzagaray police, Del Pilar was killed when he shot it out with policemen serving a search warrant in his house at about 1:45 p.m., Thursday.
The raiders found inside Del Pilar’s house shabu and drug paraphernalia.
In Hagonoy town, also on Thursday night, Morales, alleged leader of the “Babsy Group” operating in Bulacan, was also killed in an encounter with cops tasked to serve an arrest warrant against him.
In a follow-up operation at dawn yesterday, police operatives killed Lauro Reyes, also a member of the Babsy Group, while resisting arrest in Barangay Sto. Nino, Hagonoy, Bulacan.
Police said Reyes was previously arrested for illegal drug charges.
Aside from illegal drugs operation, police said the Babsy Group was also involved in a series of murder, robbery and motor-napping cases.
In Malolos City, police also killed an unidentified drug suspect during a shootout that followed a buy-bust operation along bypass road in Barangay Mojon. The slain suspect’s companion managed to flee on board a motorcycle.
