Bureau of Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon yesterday revealed that he has employed around 20 Magdalo officers at the BoC.
Faeldon yesterday said the Magdalo officers will be deployed in areas in need of people who can carry out outdoor functions.
“We have around 20 officers from our group before who are willing to join. Marami po kasi tayong mga areas na hindi nakaka-function talaga so we need people who are very active in outdoor functions,” he said.
Faeldon said the Magdalo officers have civil service qualification and were employed under the 3,000 job orders at the BoC.
He revealed that some of the Magdalo officers he invited were Army Captains Gerardo Gambala, Milo Maestrecampo, and Alvin Ebreo, and Navy Lt. Senior Grade James Layug.
Layug will reportedly be at the BoC’s operating arm while Ebreo will be at the special operating unit. Faeldon noted that the other Magdalo officers will be embedded in different collection districts.
He added that some of the Magdalo officers have already started working at the BoC.
Faeldon said that people will not have to worry about the presence of soldiers at the BoC since they are people he knows. “These people, I have worked with them. I know how sincere they are in their efforts to help the government that’s why I asked them to volunteer,” he said. (Argyll Cyrus B. Geducos)
