ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two notorious drug pushers were killed while two others were arrested yesterday morning when police raided their hideout in the village of Manga Bolong, about 60 kilometers east of this city.
Police identified the slain drug pushers as Mark Taroza Gregorio and Peter Galvon of Sitio Manga Bolong.
Arrested were Merham Abdul, 30; and Julmi Evangelista of Barangay Dita.
Chief Inspector Ramon I. Bautista, Caruan Police Station chief, said the incident took place about 8:30 a.m. when policemen raided their hideout in search for Arsi Jumaari and Junie Hairin.
Bautista said that upon seeing the arrival of the police, Gregorio and Galvon fired shots at the approaching policemen, triggering a brief shootout.
When firefight stopped, police searched the area and found the bodies of Gregorio and Galvon, the Curuan police chief said.
They also found Abdul and Evangelista hiding inside. Jumaari and Hairin managed to flee.
